Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how JotSchedule ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects information when you use jotschedule.com (the "Service").

1. Information we collect

Account information: your email address, used to sign you in and send service emails.

Business data: information you enter about your salon — shop name, staff, services, schedules, pay settings, and billing status.

Client information: when you or your clients use the queue or booking features, we store client names, phone numbers, email addresses, and appointment history on your behalf. This data belongs to your business; we process it only to provide the Service.

Payment information: handled by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers — only subscription status and billing identifiers.

Technical information:when a page fails or runs slowly, our error monitoring records the request, the browser or device, and the IP address it came from. Our booking and contact forms run a bot check that also sees the visitor's IP address. An IP address indicates only an approximate region, not a precise location.

In the language of the California Consumer Privacy Act, that amounts to identifiers, customer records, commercial information, limited internet activity, and coarse location inferred from an IP address. Just as importantly, here is what we do not collect: we use no advertising identifiers, we do not track your browsing or search history across the web or between sites, we run no advertising and measure no ad performance, and we do not buy information about you from data brokers or other outside sources.

2. Who controls your information

Two different relationships run through the Service, and which one applies decides who to ask about your information.

If you are a salon owner or a staff member, your account information is ours to manage, and you can exercise the rights in section 10 with us directly.

If you are a client of a salonthat uses JotSchedule, your name, phone number, email, and visit history are held on that salon's behalf. The salon decides what to collect and how long to keep it; we only store and process it for them. Requests to see, correct, or delete that information should go to the salon, and we will help them carry it out. If you contact us first and we can identify which salon you mean, we will pass your request on and tell you we have done so.

3. How we use information

We use the information above solely to operate the Service: signing you in, running your queue and calendar, sending booking confirmations and account notifications, processing subscription payments, protecting the Service from abuse, and diagnosing technical problems. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use your clients' contact details for our own marketing.

4. Text messages (SMS)

When a client provides a mobile number while booking or checking in at a salon that uses the Service, they agree to receive transactional text messages from that salon. Today those are a booking confirmation, and an appointment reminder roughly 24 hours ahead — the reminder goes out only where the booking includes a mobile number, was made at least 24 hours before the appointment, and the salon has reminders switched on. Messages may also include queue-status updates, such as letting someone know they are next, where a salon has that turned on. Message frequency depends on the client's appointments. Message and data rates may apply.

Clients can reply STOP to opt out of further messages at any time, or HELP for help. Nothing else in a reply is read or acted on, so clients should call the salon to change an appointment. We do not send marketing texts, and we never sell or share mobile numbers with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Service providers

We rely on a small number of providers to run the Service:

Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (text-message delivery), Sentry (error and performance monitoring), and Cloudflare (bot protection on our public forms). Each receives only the data needed to perform its role, and none of them is permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Sharing information with these providers so they can run the Service on our behalf is not a sale, and we do not sell or share personal information as the California Consumer Privacy Act defines those terms.

A salon's public page may also link out to its address on Google Maps. We send nothing to Google unless you follow that link, and once you do, Google's own privacy policy governs what happens there.

6. Where your information is held

The Service and its database are hosted in the United States, and information you and your clients enter is stored and processed there. If you use the Service from outside the United States, you are asking us to hold that information here.

7. Cookies

We use cookies only to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

8. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. If you cancel, you may request an export or deletion of your account data by emailing support@jotschedule.com; we will delete it within 30 days, except records we must retain for legal or billing purposes.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our hosting providers, and access is restricted by row-level security and authenticated sessions. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the data we handle.

10. Your privacy rights

You may ask us to:

Tell you what we hold — the categories of information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we shared it with. Give you a copy of that information. Correct anything inaccurate. Delete it, except where we must keep records for legal or billing reasons.

We will never deny you service, charge you a different price, or give you a lesser experience for exercising any of these rights. To make a request, email support@jotschedule.com. We will ask you to verify your identity before we act, so that nobody can obtain or erase your information by pretending to be you, and you may use an authorised agent.

These rights are written into California law, but we do not limit them to California — if you are somewhere else and make the same request, we will honour it. If your request concerns information a salon holds about you as its client, see section 2.

11. Complaints

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information or your request, please contact us first so we can put it right. You may also raise it with the California Attorney General's office, or with the consumer-protection or data-protection authority where you live.

12. Children

The Service is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. A salon may book an appointment for a minor client; that record is the salon's, and section 2 applies to it. If you believe a child has given us information directly, email us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or within the Service before they take effect.
